What Does it Mean to be Board Certified?

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929. It is the oldest and most prestigious specialty board in dentistry.

Approximately 30% of orthodontists in the United States attain Board Certification, a rigorous and demanding process.

The aspiring orthodontist meticulously assesses their own work, scrutinizing successes and shortcomings of each patient’s treatment. They compile treated patient cases into a presentation format for evaluation by senior professionals in the field.

Dr. David Markham attained board certification in 2008, showcasing his dedication to clinical excellence and delivering exceptional treatment experiences for his patients as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
